Categories we cover
What makes a good fit: a physical consumer product our readers would realistically shop for, available to buy in the US, with a clear use case we can test hands-on. We're less interested in pre-release prototypes, services, or anything we can't actually put through real-world use.
What we don't review: we don't accept prescription products, supplements or anything making health claims, alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or weapons.

What we promise — and what we don't
Spaffin reviews are independent. We say what we actually think after using the product.
- We do not accept payment for reviews, for positive coverage, or for better placement. There's no pay-to-play here, and there's no price list.
- Sending us a product does not buy you a review, a good review, or a higher ranking. Our rankings and recommendations are based on the product, not on who sent it.
- If a product isn't good, we'll say so. If it's great, we'll say that too. Either way, the words are ours.
We'd rather tell readers the truth than tell a brand what it wants to hear. That's the whole point of the site.
How we handle free products
If a brand sends Spaffin a product to review, we tell you. Every review of a product we received for free — or at a discount — says so, right there in the review where you'll see it. You'll never have to go looking for it.
This is separate from our affiliate disclosure. Spaffin is an Amazon Associate and earns a commission when you buy through some of our links, at no extra cost to you. That's true whether we paid for a product or a brand sent it. Getting a product for free and earning a commission on a link are two different things, so we disclose both.
Getting something free doesn't change what we say about it.

Common questions from brands
Will my product definitely get reviewed?
No. We can't review everything, and sending us a product doesn't guarantee a review — or a positive one if we do review it. We only write honest opinions based on actually using the product.
Do you charge for reviews?
Never. We don't accept payment for reviews, positive coverage, or placement. There's no pay-to-play and no price list. If we review your product, it's because it's a fit for our readers.
Do you return products after testing?
We don't return products. We either keep them for ongoing testing or donate them. If you send us something unsolicited, you're giving it to us with no strings attached — we're not obligated to review, return, or pay for it.
How long does a review take?
Our reviews are hands-on, so timing depends on the product and how long real-world testing takes — anywhere from a couple of weeks to over a month. We can't commit to a publish date in advance.
